Ornament Extravaganza

Well, I know I have been an absent blogger for a while.  I guess getting things ready for the craft show combined with the Christmas season took up most of my time.  The craft show went well, although it was obvious that most people were interested in the ornaments I made that had crystals added to them.  The christmas tree ornaments were big sellers.

The crystals I bought said there were Swarovski crystal "elements" in them.  I have a feeling they say that so they can charge an exorbitant amount of money for them.  They are quite beautiful and unfortunately the pictures don't capture the sparkle as much as seeing them in real life.

Christmas Tree Assembly Line

Well, the time is getting closer for the Christmas Craft Sale and I have moved things into high gear to make sure I have a fair selection of ornaments.  It seems that my inspiration this weekend was Christmas trees with all things peppermint - I don't know why I got into the "candy cane" mode, but obviously I did, so here is a sampling.  I haven't glazed these ornaments yet, and still have some crystal accents to add to a few.

This was the first batch.  It is amazing how much time it takes to decorate these, but I just put on some tunes, crack a frosty beer and let my imagination take over.

The Christmas Craft Show is getting closer!

Well, I decided to take the plunge and participate in this year's Christmas Craft Show at work. It is an all-day event, and I am hoping there are some people out there who might like to purchase a few of my ornaments.  I must admit I am a bit nervous that no one is going to like them and I will be left with a lot of ornaments on my hands.  These are some of the ornaments I have created so far, but there is still a long way to go.  Hope you enjoy them.

Ornaments from Christmas Past

These are a few ornaments I made last year.  This was my first attempt to create ornaments using modelling clay.  I usually finish the ornaments with a glaze, but unfortunately did not take pictures of the finished product, so these are pre-glazed.  I do like using the modelling clay and have come up with some new ideas for this year's ornaments.
